Local Listings are another important method of Internet Marketing for many companies. These are listings on Google and Yahoo, their version of an on-line Yellow Pages for companies offering goods or services which people will be looking for locally (as opposed to the types of things where people don’t care where you are). They have to be specifically signed up for and properly categorized. In most cities there are any several other listing sites including those the Yellow Pages companies themselves maintain.
If you are selling goods or services locally, you are seriously missing the boat if you aren’t in the local listings or your listings aren't correct or complete.
Google and Yahoo’s basic local listings are free, as are many others. They and other companies also have paid listings but you don’t usually need them.
